Off-Machine Coater

n the off-machine coater the coating speed and other key process variables can be constant even, when lighter or heavier board substances are produced. This is a remarkable advantage, when producing high quality paperboard for graphical applications. Additionally this kind of coating concept ensures possibilities to produce efficiently wide range of high quality Tecta barrier boards.

Off-machine coater also makes it possible to use purchased baseboard for certain applications.  The coating machine has two coating stations on both sides of the web, which enables production of symmetrical high quality paperboard. Coating stations are able to use for different kinds of coating methods like bladecoating and rod-coating.

Soft-calendering finishes the surface to final gloss and smoothness level. The trim width of the off-machine coater is 245 cm with a maximum capacity of 77 000 kt/a. The maximum capasity will rise to 80 000 kt/a after the planned investment program for 2008 has been accomplished.

The investment program will be ready after the first half of 2008. Main targets of this program are to improve the production speed and cost efficiency of Tecta barrier boards, develope the quality of printing surface further among all board grades,  improve operating properties and production efficiency of the whole coating process.
